2026.10.07-06 ENTEC NSTDA Joins APEC Workshop in Peru on Regulatory Sandboxes for Green Energy Innovation

On 6–7 October 2026, at the Pullman Lima Miraflores, Lima, Peru, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, represented by Dr. Peerawat Saisirirat, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team leader, and Dr. Visarn Lilavivat, researcher, was invited to participate in the APEC Workshop: Experiences of Implementing Regulatory Sandboxes for Innovation in Green Energy Technologies to exchange experiences and help shape approaches to promoting green energy innovation across the APEC region.

The workshop brought together policymakers, regulators, researchers, and private-sector representatives from APEC economies to share approaches to regulatory sandboxes, controlled environments that ease regulatory constraints so that green energy and digital innovations can be tested before commercial scale-up. ENTEC researchers contributed perspectives on demonstration projects, linking research with policymakers and industry, and developing practical strategies, drawing on Thailand’s experience.

Dr. Visarn Lilavivat also spoke on “Governance and sustainability of regulatory sandboxes” in the session “Strategic Recommendations and Next Steps,” which focused on strategic guidance for the implementation, scaling, and long-term sustainability of sandboxes in APEC economies. ENTEC’s participation reflects its role in connecting energy knowledge with policy development and international cooperation, supporting Thailand’s transition toward Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions.
