On 19 May 2026, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), welcomed a delegation from the German Embassy, led by Mr. Eduard Ruge, Counsellor for Science, Technology Cooperation, German Embassy Bangkok and Singapore. The delegation also included Mr. Christian Klöppelt, from Centre for Economic and Management of Technologies, Fraunhofer for Ceramic Technologies and System (IKTS). The visit aimed at discussing potential research and development collaborations and to tour ENTEC’s research laboratories.
On this occasion, Dr. Somboon Sahasithiwat, Executive Director of ENTEC, together with Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Acting Deputy Executive Director of ENTEC, Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group, Dr. Jiravan Mongkoltanatas, Leader of the Energy Storage Technology Research Team and Dr. Nattanai Kunanusont, Researcher, warmly welcomed the delegation. Dr. Nuwong and Dr. Pimpa presented an overview of ENTEC’s research activities and innovations, covering energy storage technologies and clean energy solutions, followed by a tour of the energy storage technology laboratories.
During the visit, both parties actively engaged in knowledge exchange and discussions on potential collaborations between ENTEC and German institutions. Key topics included Battery Recycling and Circular Economy initiatives in Thailand, as well as technical challenges, emerging opportunities, and potential area of cooperation that could support the advancement of clean energy development in Thailand and the ASEAN region.
The visit reflects ENTEC’s role as Thailand’s focal point for energy technology research and development, committed to fostering international collaboration in driving clean energy innovation and supporting sustainable energy development.
