On October 24, 2024, at the Asawin Grand Convention Hotel in Bangkok, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), in partnership with the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), along with over 25 public and private research organizations, jointly hosted the 12th International Conference on Materials Science and Technology (MSAT-12).
The opening ceremony was attended by ENTEC Executive Director Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul and Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group (EIRG). This year’s conference aimed to leverage over three decades of accumulated knowledge, tools, and expertise from MTEC and its partners to establish robust research mechanisms and processes. This initiative targeted urgent national challenges and industrial issues, fostering a strong research and innovation ecosystem that delivers practical, impactful applications across sectors. The goal was to underscore the critical role of science, technology, and innovation in improving quality of life and advancing Thailand’s economic development sustainably.
ENTEC also showcased its contributions in the energy sector through a panel discussion titled “R&D Opportunities from SMR (Small Modular Reactor) Program in Thailand” on October 25, 2024, highlighting new developments in Materials for Energy research.
