On August 3, 2023, Prof. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of NSTDA, together with Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai, the Executive Vice President, Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, ENTEC Assistant Executive Director, and Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group, welcomed Dr. Edwin Liu, President of Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and his team. The purpose of this meeting was to establish valuable alliances in the field of energy research, as Taiwan had committed to a net-zero policy a year earlier, demonstrating a shared commitment to combating climate change.
Throughout the meeting, Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul provided insights into NSTDA’s Energy Research. ITRI’s representatives also delivered engaging presentations covering topics such as Policy and strategy for Net Zero, Technology for Net Zero, and Smart farming. Then there were fruitful discussions centered on innovative net-zero strategies and research including potential future collaborations between the two institutions. As part of the visit, the visiting team had the opportunity to explore the Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) facility at the esteemed National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC).
