ENTEC hosted a seminar focused on the theme ” Turning Challenges into Opportunities for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).”

On March 28, 2024, CC403 meeting room at the Thailand Science Park Convention Center Building in Pathum Thani Province, set the stage for a thought-provoking seminar organized by the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC). The event aimed to foster knowledge exchange and discussions on the theme “Turning Challenges into Opportunities for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).”

Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Director of the National Energy Technology Center, commenced the seminar with an opening address, followed by Dr. Visarn Lilavivat, a researcher from the Low Carbon Energy Research Group, who guided the proceedings.

The seminar showcases a prestigious array of speakers, including Ms. Sutharee Kiatman, an engineer specializing in Biofuel Development from the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Energy; Dr. Seksan Papong, National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC); Dr. Kajornsak Faungnawakij, Director of the Research Group at the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC); Ms. Suraporn Petchdee, General Manager of BSGF Company Limited (BSGF); Dr. Saranya Peng-Ont, Senior Researcher from the Petroleum and Automotive Products Research Department at PTT Innovation Institute; and Ms. Suwanna Faktim, Director of Suvarnabhumi Fuel Storage Station at Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Public Company Limited (BAFS).

The seminar attracted significant interest from both government agencies and the private sector attending both in person and online. It provided a platform for experts from various sectors to share insights and advancements in Sustainable Aviation Fuel development, thereby unlocking new energy business opportunities and addressing the imperative to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the aviation sector. These discussions align with the global goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, marking a significant step towards sustainable aviation practices.
