The team of executives from the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) joined a reception for the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation – Ms. Supamas Issarapakdi – at “MHESI for EV” Press Conference, Thailand Science Park Convention Center in Pathum Thani. Presiding over the event, the minister has announced the policy for Thailand’s EV (electric vehicle) ecosystem development with immediate effect featuring three aspects: manpower (“EV-HRD”), EV share (“EV-Transformation”), and research funding for the entire EV ecosystem (“EV-Innovation”). The policy is expected to boost Thailand towards being the largest EV hub of the Asia-Pacific region, as well as realizing the government’s plan to achieve domestic manufacturing of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) at 30% within 5 years.
As part of the event, ENTEC co-organized an exhibition showcasing a selection of its EV-related research. The project “Replication Battery-Swapping Electric Motorcycle Taxis in Samyan District of Bangkok: Electric Mobility Two-Wheelers Toward Sustainable Society” promotes the use of electric two-wheelers for public mobility to facilitate the country’s EV transformation, reduced pollution, and better quality of life in the city. Through project “Next generation automotive industry’s capability enhancement in Thailand through the development of swappable battery platform for electric motorcycle” ENTEC has established its presence in the areas of technical standards for electric motorcycle battery packs, swapping stations as well as other ancillary equipment. The work enables inter-operability among different manufacturers, bringing great benefits to the consumers – convenience at a lowered cost. More on this story:
