ENTEC partners with Energy Absolute and UNEP showcasing Bangkok’s green public mobility

As part of ‘Climate and Clean Air Conference 2023: Air Quality Action Week’ hosted by Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CACC), National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) in partnership with Energy Absolute Public Company Limited and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) organized a field event on 2 June 2023 to showcase and promote Bangkok’s electric mobility (e-mobility) in support of UNSDGs and climate actions to reduce air pollution and greenhouse emissions.

ENTEC Assistant Executive Director Dr.Lily Eurwilaichitr, together with researchers from Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team (RENT) Dr.Visarn Lilavivat and Dr.Peerawat Saisirirat, represented ENTEC on this occasion.

During the event, the delegation was taken from the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) by ‘MINE BUS’ to Tha Chang Pier from which the delegation then boarded ‘MINE SMART FERRY’ to experience Bangkok’s public electric mobility. MINE BUS and MINE SMART FERRY are electric vehicles manufactured by the subsidiaries of Energy Absolute Company Limited (Thai Smile Bus Company Limited and Thai Smile Boat Company Limited, respectively) powered by lithium-ion batteries, and are transport innovations entirely designed, developed, and manufactured in Thailand. Both MINE BUS and MINE SMART FERRY have already been serving Bangkok’s public, helping the city to achieve greener and cleaner transportation.

‘Climate and Clean Air Conference 2023: Air Quality Action Week’ was hosted by UNEP’s Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CACC) on 29 May – 2 June 2023 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together experts, government representatives and decision-makers, intergovernmental bodies, donors, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to address the issue of air pollution and its adverse impacts on public health, development, environment, and climate. The conference featured a series of plenary and breakout sessions to identify new opportunities, develop capacity, facilitate operations, and exchange knowledge.
