2025.09.09 Battery Swapping Platform Showcased at Thailand–Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit (TTICoS)

On September, 9 2025 – Avani Sukhumvit Hotel, Bangkok

The  swappable battery pack platform for electric motorcycles: BATT SWAP was presented at the Smart Vehicle Industry Forum during the Thailand–Taiwan Industrial Collaboration Summit (TTICoS). The session was led by Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group, National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA.

The presentation highlighted proof-of-concept R&D on a swappable battery pack platform for electric motorcycles along with ongoing efforts to develop industrial and national regulatory standards. These initiatives are being advanced through the Standard Swappable Battery Consortium for Small E-Mobility: Swap2gether, a joint initiative involving government agencies and private sector stakeholders. The consortium promotes standardization not only for swappable batteries but also for other charging systems, contributing to Thailand’s EV30@30 policy – a goal to produce electric vehicles (EVs) that are zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), accounting for 30% of total car production in Thailand by 2030. It is also open to collaboration with both domestic and international partners to explore new opportunities in the electric motorcycle industry.

Other forum highlights included:

  • “EV Market in Thailand: Challenges and Opportunities” – by Mr. Suroj Sangsanit, President, Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT).
  • “Micromobility & Transportation Carbon Credit” – by Mr. Thomson Su, Secretary-General, Taiwan Smart Electric Bicycle Association.
  • “Applying Innovation in Urban Mobility: City Lab Experience from Thailand” – by Dr. Dominika Kalinowska, Director of Transport Project, GIZ Thailand.
