On August 12–13, 2025, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), NSTDA, participated in the international conference “The 8th ASEAN Smart Grid Congress” or ASGC8 held in Malaysia. The ENTEC delegation included Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group, Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Director of the Low Carbon Energy Research Group, Dr. Kampanat Silva, Researcher; and Mr. Pidpong Janta, Research Assistant, from the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team. They attended the congress as keynote speakers and panelists in various sessions, as follows:


- Pimpa was invited as a Keynote Speaker, delivered on “Global and ASEAN Battery Technology Trends.”
- Nuwong participated as a Panelist in Forum Session 1: “Smart Grid Policy & Regional Collaboration.”
- Kampanart joined as a Participant and Lead Discussant on the topic of “Energy Resilience Assessment in Malaysia and the expansion of implementation and collaboration across the ASEAN region.”
- Pidpong Janta served as a Panelist in Forum Session 2: “From Innovation to Implementation: Regional Experiences in Smart Energy Solutions.”
The congress brought together participants from diverse organizations, including the Asian Development College for Community Economy and Technology (adiCET) of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU), co-organizer), and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), which served as one of the sponsors.
Following the congress, ENTEC engaged in strategic discussions with the Solar Research Institute (SRI) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, EGAT, and neighboring countries on hosting future events. These initiatives aim to strengthen ongoing collaboration and advance energy technology and innovation development across the region.
