The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), led by Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group, attended the press conference and launch of the “Creative Red Lotus Lake Tourism for Sustainable Udon Thani” project on September 9, 2026, at Lotus Plus Udon Thani.
The event was attended by Mr. Jakkraphan Chantraphum, Deputy Governor of Udon Thani, Dr. Phatthaphong Phongsakul, Mrs. Natthachuda Nuntani, Udon Thani Provincial Tourism and Sports Officer, as well as representatives from government agencies, including the District Chief of Kumphawapi, and other partner organizations.
On this occasion, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Udon Thani Province, the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), the Tourism Authority of Thailand – Udon Thani Office, Udon Thani Technical College, government and private organizations, and local community enterprises. Under the MOU, NSTDA will support knowledge and provide advice on battery technology for electric boats, as well as exchange technical information and suggestions as appropriate.
The project aims to promote the use of more than 15 electric boats in cooperation with local community enterprises. The project will help reduce fuel use and environmental impacts while supporting sustainable tourism. This cooperation is another step toward applying clean energy technology to tourism and developing Red Lotus Lake as a Green Destination.
