The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), represented by Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Acting Deputy Executive Director, participated as a speaker at the “Workshop on Practical Approaches for New-Type Power Systems Adapted to High Penetration of Variable Renewable Energy (VRE)”, organized by China Southern Power Grid (CSG) under an APEC project. The workshop was held as a side event in conjunction with the APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting, bringing together representatives from energy authorities, international organizations, the energy sector, and other stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region to exchange technical and policy approaches for developing power systems capable of accommodating high shares of renewable energy in a secure, cost-effective, and sustainable manner.
On this occasion, Dr. Nuwong delivered a presentation titled “Thailand’s Practices and Experiences in the Green Energy Transition,” sharing Thailand’s experiences in advancing the energy transition and approaches to preparing the energy system for the increasing integration of Variable Renewable Energy (VRE).
ENTEC’s participation in the workshop reflects its role in bringing Thailand’s energy technology expertise and experience to regional platforms, while promoting knowledge exchange and strengthening regional cooperation on the energy transition across the Asia-Pacific.
