The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), conducted a site visit to its industrial partners in Rayong Province to promote collaboration in research and development of clean energy technologies and advanced materials. The delegation was led by Mr. Auttapol Rerkpiboon, Chairman of the ENTEC Executive Board, Dr. Tunyawat Somjaitaweeporn, Board Member, Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of ENTEC, Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, Assistant Executive Director, and ENTEC staff.

The delegation visited the IRPC Innovation Center of IRPC Public Company Limited, where they were warmly welcomed by Mr. Terdkiat Prommool, President and Chief Executive Officer, along with Mr. Apichit Wongpanit, Senior Executive Vice President of Corporate Organization Effectiveness and Digital, and Mr. Lesak Thongruang, Senior Executive Vice President of Operations. The visit featured a productive exchange of perspectives on innovation and technology.

The purpose of the visit was to learn the production processes of Acetylene Black, PIM-L, and PIM-AL, premium-grade materials co-developed by IRPC and ENTEC for use in lithium-ion batteries. These materials excel in enhancing electrical conductivity and current stability, making them ideal for electric vehicle batteries, electronic devices, and Energy Storage Systems (ESS). The collaboration reflects the strong potential of public-private partnerships in advancing next-generation energy technologies.

The group also visited the PTTEP Technology and Innovation Center or PTIC of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP). They were welcomed by Mr. Dittapon Soothi-O-Soth, Senior Vice President of Technology Management Division. The delegation attended a briefing on the development of MERClean, an innovative chemical solution for petroleum pipeline cleaning, and offshore pipeline decommissioning technologies. These innovations represent successful collaboration between ENTEC, MTEC (NSTDA), and PTTEP in enhancing operational safety, efficiency, and sustainability in energy and environmental sectors.

The visit concluded with the 3rd ENTEC Executive Board Meeting of 2025, held at the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) conference room. The group was welcomed by Dr. Wut Dankittikul, Executive Vice President at the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), responsible for overseeing the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) . This ENTEC Executive Board Meeting included updates on ENTEC’s progress and strategic direction and highlighted key outcomes from the Strategic Meeting of the Energy Technology Research and Development Partnership Network, commemorating ENTEC’s 5th anniversary. The session concluded with key takeaways from a panel discussion on Thailand’s energy development landscape and ENTEC’s strategic role, where leading experts shared valuable feedback and recommendations. These insights will help guide ENTEC in its continued mission to serve as Thailand’s national energy technology focal point—advancing innovation, supporting clean energy goals, and driving the nation toward sustainable carbon neutrality and net-zero emissions.
