2025.05.23 ENTEC – NSTDA helped ERIA to initiate the Framework for ASEAN EV Battery Passport

On 23 May 2025, Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Director of the Low Carbon Energy Research Group, Dr. Peerawat Saisirirat, Leader of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Team, and Dr. Nattanai Kunanusont, National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), were invited to share knowledge and experiences in the First Workshop of the ERIA-IKMAS Research Project on “Preparing Initial Framework for Electric Vehicle Battery Passport in ASEAN”, organized by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) in collaboration with the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), and the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysian (UKM) in a hybrid format at the ERIA Jakarta office, Sentral Senayan II, Jakarta, Indonesia, and via virtual meeting. The main objective of this workshop is to highlight the importance of the EV Battery Passport as a strategic plan on preparing the initial framework and create coordination among ASEAN Member States (AMS). The ultimate goal of this workshop is to foster engagement among stakeholders, which will be the keys to establish a comprehensive and create future-ready framework for the ASEAN EV Battery Passport. The meeting participants included representatives from the European Union, the CJK countries (China, Japan, Korea), and ASEAN member countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, and the CML countries (Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos).
