The ICT Project for Lifelong Learning for Marginalized Communities under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, led by Dr. Aswin Hongsingthong, along with the ENTEC team and expert engineers from the Solar Photovoltaic Research Team, conducted training and activities at the Border Patrol Police Learning Center, Ban Huaymaoh School in Sam Laep, Sop Moei, and Ban Mae Loe School in Sao Hin, Mae Sariang, both in Mae Hong Son Province.
Dr. Aswin and the ENTEC team organized a hands-on workshop on “Fabrication of Self-Reliant LED Lighting Kits,” designed for parents of students from over 65 households lacking access to the power grid. The team also surveyed the area and inspected the installation of solar power generation systems and telemetry equipment at two sites in Mae Hong Son Province: Ban Huaymaoh and Ban Mae Loe. During this visit, the team provided nutritious meals to over 100 students and delivered essential supplies donated by the Executive Director of the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) and ENTEC staff for both students and teachers at Ban Huaymaoh School for the current academic year. On this significant occasion, the ICT project leader, accompanied by the coordinator from the Business Development and Stakeholder Relations Division, was honored to meet with Police Colonel Supawat Srichaichana, Commander of Border Patrol Police Division 34 in Tak Province, to discuss expanding this initiative to more Border Patrol Police schools. This expansion aims to broaden the project’s scope, bringing light, education, and opportunities to Thailand’s remote communities.
