On April 7, 2026, at ENTEC Laboratory, 6th floor, INC2-B Building, Thailand Science Park
The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), led by Dr. Jiravan Mongkoltanatas, Team Leader for the Energy Storage Technology Research Team, Innovation Research Group, warmly welcomed executives and staff from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) for a site visit to explore the NSTDA research capabilities. The visit was conducted under the framework of a research and development collaboration agreement between EGAT and NSTDA at Thailand Science Park.
The EGAT delegation was led by Mr. Warit Rattanachuen, Deputy Governor – Strategy, and Mr. Supachai Koonset, Assistant Governor for Research, Innovation, and Business Development, accompanied by more than 40 staff members. The delegation toured ENTEC’s laboratories, where Dr. Jiravan, together with Dr. Priew Eiamlamai, Researcher, and Ms. Panida Muangkasem, Senior Research Assistant, presented ENTEC’s research and development activities in battery technologies and energy storage systems.
Dr. Jiravan provided an overview of ENTEC’s research on batteries and energy storage systems, highlighting a development framework based on the 3S principles: Stability, Safety, and Sustainability. The research encompasses the entire battery lifecycle, from advanced material development and performance optimization to real-world applications and end-of-life battery management. This integrated approach aims to promote clean energy adoption and support Thailand’s energy transition, in alignment with national policies on Net Zero and long-term Carbon Neutrality goals. The visit also included guided tours of key laboratory facilities, including those dedicated to advanced battery materials development and high-performance battery testing systems.
This visit underscores the vital role of energy research in Thailand’s sustainability agenda and reaffirms ENTEC’s position as a leading driver of energy innovation. It also reflects the strong and enduring partnership between EGAT and NSTDA in advancing research and innovation toward a sustainable energy future for Thailand.
