2026.03.30-26 ENTEC Participates in Thai–Japan Green Hydrogen NEXUS Symposium and Presents Hydrogen Research Progress

Executives and researchers from the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand, participated in the Thai–Japan Green Hydrogen I2CNER Symposium, held on 26–27 March 2026 at the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), Kyushu University, Japan.

The symposium was organized under the NEXUS Japan–Thailand Green Technology Research Area, aiming to strengthen collaboration between Thai and Japanese researchers in the field of green hydrogen technologies.

The Thai delegation attending the meeting included Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, ENTEC Executive Director, Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, ENTEC Assistant Executive Director, Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Director of the Low Carbon Energy Research Group, Dr. Visarn Lilavivat, and Dr. Korakot Sombatmankhong, Senior Researchers from ENTEC, who participated in discussions and knowledge exchange on hydrogen technologies with Japanese researchers.

During the symposium, Dr. Visarn delivered a presentation entitled:

“Building a Collaborative Ecosystem for Thailand’s Hydrogen Future: H2 Harmony Hub.”

The presentation introduced the concept of developing a hydrogen innovation ecosystem in Thailand, integrating research institutions, industry partners, and policy stakeholders to accelerate hydrogen technology development.

The symposium also featured poster presentations from Thai and Japanese researchers covering key topics such as hydrogen production via electrolysis, bio-hydrogen production from biomass and agricultural waste, and advanced catalytic materials for hydrogen technologies.

On 28 March 2026, the Thai delegation visited the Saga Ceramics Research Laboratory (SCRL) in Saga Prefecture, Japan, to learn about research on advanced ceramic materials and their industrial and energy-related applications.

On 30 March 2026, Thai and Japanese researchers held a follow-up meeting under the NEXUS collaboration framework to review project progress and discuss future collaboration plans. The meeting also explored opportunities to expand researcher exchange between Thailand and Japan in order to further strengthen joint research and development in hydrogen technologies.

This symposium marks an important step toward enhancing Thailand–Japan collaboration in hydrogen technology and supporting the transition toward a sustainable low-carbon energy future.
