On May 14, 2025, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), hosted the “NSTDA x Press Interviews” event at the Yothi Research Building, Bangkok. Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, ENTEC Executive Director, shared the center’s vision and achievements in research and innovation aimed at supporting Thailand’s transition toward a sustainable energy ecosystem.
The event highlighted key technologies, including green hydrogen, currently being co-developed with domestic and international partners. This innovation is expected to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance ASEAN’s energy infrastructure resilience in the face of climate change.
Another major focus was ENTEC’s work on energy storage and electric vehicle (EV) battery technologies. The center plays a leading role in the “Thailand BattSwap” initiative to establish national standards for swappable EV batteries and is developing next-generation batteries with high capacity, long life, and improved safety—utilizing local materials to reduce reliance on imports and strengthen national energy security.
The showcase also featured solar energy innovations, green chemicals from palm oil, and digital platforms for energy management—emphasizing ENTEC’s commitment to bridging research with real-world applications.
Dr. Sumittra reaffirmed ENTEC’s mission to advance practical energy solutions through collaboration with public and private sector partners, aiming to generate tangible impact on Thailand’s innovation ecosystem and boost national competitiveness in the global energy transition.
