2026.02.18 ENTEC and MTEC, NSTDA, Share Biogas Expertise at Biogas Workshop and Visit “Phi Sua House,” A 100% Clean Energy Home Powered by Green Hydrogen and Solar PV

On February 18, 2026, at Chiang Mai

The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) and the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), led by Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, Assistant Executive Director, ENTEC, and Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Director of the Low Carbon Energy Research Group, ENTEC, together with members of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team, as well as Ms. Wanwisa Thanungkano, Senior Research Assistant and her team from the Technology and Informatics Institute for Sustainability (TIIS) visited the “Phi Sua House” the world’s first prototype residential home powered entirely by 100% clean energy powered by green hydrogen, a solar cell system, and an energy storage system. “Phi Sua House” project represents the world’s first residential house powered entirely by 100% clean energy, integrating green hydrogen, a solar photovoltaic system, and an energy storage system to achieve full energy self-sufficiency.

The project generates electricity from solar power during the day and utilizes surplus electricity to produce hydrogen through electrolysis. This green hydrogen, derived from renewable energy, is then converted back into electricity, enabling the house to operate continuously, 24 hours a day, year-round, without reliance on external power sources.

During the visit, the project team shared practical insights and technical knowledge on the technologies deployed, including the project’s initial concept, life cycle economic assessment, and future scaling strategies aimed at accelerating the adoption and demand for green hydrogen solutions.

ENTEC remains firmly committed to strengthening its expertise in emerging energy technologies in alignment with carbon neutrality goals, with the ultimate objective of delivering efficient, innovative, and environmentally sustainable energy solutions.
