On 13 January 2026, at Meeting Room M120, 1st Floor, National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), NSTDA, Thailand Science Park, Pathum Thani, the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) organized a training workshop on standard connectors for small battery packs. The workshop was conducted under the framework of the Universal Battery Standard Consortium.
The Universal Battery Standard Consortium aims to develop draft standards covering battery pack design guidelines, communication protocols, and standardized connectors for small electric vehicles.
This workshop specifically focused on product training and technical knowledge sharing related to battery pack connectors.
The workshop was led by Dr. Pimpa Limthongkul, Director of the Energy Innovation Research Group at ENTEC. Product design concepts, engineering considerations, and application guidelines for battery pack connectors were presented by engineers and specialists from Amphenol Corporation, a global leader in EV connector technology.
The session also included technical discussions and experience sharing with industry participants, including:
- GridWhiz (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
- Oska Holding Co., Ltd.
- Beta Energy Solution Co., Ltd.
- Stäubli (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), and the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO).
The outcomes of the workshop will support improved understanding, evaluation, and future development of standard connectors for small battery packs, contributing to the Consortium’s roadmap toward national standardization.
