2025.10.20 ENTEC, NSTDA Represents Thailand at the 53rd Sub-Committee Meeting on Sustainable Energy Research (SCSER-53) during the COSTI-88.

The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), represented Thailand at the 53rd Meeting of the Sub-Committee on Sustainable Energy Research (SCSER-53) held on October 20, 2025, during the 88th meeting of the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI-88). The Thai delegation was led by Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director, along with Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr, Assistant Executive Director, Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Director of Low Carbon Energy Research Group, Dr. Kampanart Silva, Researcher, and Mr. Pidpong Janta from Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team

During the meeting, Dr. Sumittra was elected as Vice-Chair, underscoring Thailand’s active role within the sub-committee. Addressing new project proposals, Dr. Lily presented an initiative titled “Green H2 ASEAN: Japan-ASEAN Hydrogen Future”, which received strong support and endorsement from the SCSER members. Furthermore, Dr. Kampanart Silva reported on the completion of the project “Implementation of ASEAN Energy Resilience Assessment Guideline: Capacity Building on Energy Resilience Assessment”, as a 2024 ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI) Priority. In addition, Dr. Nuwong, representing SCSER Thailand provided and update on the joint proposal “Enabling STI-informed implementation of ASEAN Strategy for Carbon Neutrality.” This proposal, developed collaboratively by SCSER and the Sub-Committee on S&T Infrastructure and Resources Development (SCIRD), had previously received endorsement from both sub-committees during the last meetings. The implementation of this joint project is expected to be scheduled following the completion of the COSTI sub-committee’s restructure.
