The National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC), under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), partnered with the Petroleum and Petrochemical College of Chulalongkorn University (PPC-CU) to organize “The 4th Workshop on Transregional Biofuels Collaboration for Sustainable Transportation (Land, Air, and Marine) Ranging from Feedstock, Production Technology, Usage and Policy,” with support from the JICA AUN/SEED Net REd-UC.

This workshop was honored by opening remarks from Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of ENTEC, and chaired by Prof. Dr. Apanee Luengnaruemitchai, Professor at the Petroleum and Petrochemical College, Chulalongkorn University (PPC-CU). The event aimed to strengthen research collaboration within the transregional research network and foster human resource development across the entire sustainable transportation fuel value chain.
Participants represented institutions from three regions, including Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Indonesia, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Vietnam, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya.
During the workshop, participants shared experiences in the development of sustainable transportation fuels, attended a lecture on the background and key principles of premium grade biodiesel (H-FAME) production presented by Dr. Yuji Yoshimura, ENTEC’s senior visiting researcher, and visited ENTEC’s demonstration facility, which features a continuous-flow production system for premium grade biodiesel (H-FAME), and a hydrogen production unit using biogas as a feedstock.
