วันที่ 23 กันยายน 2564 ศูนย์เทคโนโลยีพลังงานแห่งชาติ (ENTEC) สำนักงานพัฒนาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีแห่งชาติ (สวทช.) นำโดย ดร.สมศักดิ์ สุภสิทธิ์มงคล และทีมวิจัย ร่วมกับ ดร.ฐนียา รอยตระกูล และทีมวิจัยชีววิทยาโมเลกุลของไวรัสเด็งกี่และ ฟลาวีไวรัส ดร.สิทธิรักษ์ รอยตระกูล และคุณภัททิยา ลักษณะเจริญ ทีมวิจัยเทคโนโลยีโปรตีโอมิกส์เชิงหน้าที่ ศูนย์พันธุวิศวกรรมและเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพแห่งชาติ (BIOTEC) ทำการวิจัยและพัฒนานวัตกรรม “เครื่องผลิตน้ำยาฆ่าเชื้อด้วยวิธีทางไฟฟ้าเคมี (Electrolyzed oxidizing water)” สำหรับใช้ภายในสถานประกอบการด้านสาธารณสุข ภายใต้การสนับสนุนงบประมาณจากสำนักงานการวิจัยแห่งชาติ (วช.) เพื่อส่งเสริมและสร้างศักยภาพให้สถานประกอบการด้านสาธารณสุขหรือสถานพยาบาลในพื้นที่ห่างไกล สามารถผลิตน้ำยาฆ่าเชื้อใช้เองได้ โดยเครื่องดังกล่าวสามารถผลิตน้ำยาฆ่าเชื้อ ENERclean ประกอบด้วยกรดไฮโปคลอรัส (Hypochlorous acid, HOCl) เป็นองค์ประกอบหลัก ที่มีระดับค่ากรดด่างเป็นกลาง ผลิตจากสารธรรมชาติ ปราศจากแอลกอฮอล์และสารเคมีที่เป็นพิษ สามารถประยุกต์ใช้งานด้านการแพทย์และอุตสาหกรรมอาหาร โดยมีประสิทธิภาพในการยับยั้ง/ฆ่าเชื้อแบคทีเรีย ส่วนใหญ่ที่พบในโรงพยาบาล ผ่านตามเกณฑ์มาตรฐานการทดสอบผลิตภัณฑ์ฆ่าเชื้อโรค (AOAC 955.14, 955.15, 955.17 และ 964.02) ตามประกาศสำนักงานคณะกรรมการอาหารและยา
